I started working online in 2005 as a Chacha guide. That led to freelance writing at How to Do Things, Associated Content and several other sites. That led to blogging and even more opportunities. But it was part-time. I also subbed full time in school months. In 2010, the freelancing really took off. I did the math and found I could make more money staying at home freelancing full-time than subbing. Things have changed with my online work, with the closure of Yahoo! Voices. But there are always more freelance writing opps. And don't forget, working away from home costs money. Work at home saves.
